Junior Mechanical Engineer

Your mission

Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • CAD: opto-mechanical interface DFM of precise optical instruments, generation of technical drawings (strong understanding of GD&T) of assemblies, units and parts

  • Understanding optical layouts - ZEMAX experience highly desired

  • Experience with FEM, thermal and structural analysis techniques and participation of the support technical package for Thermal/Structural/Optical team

  • Solidworks (preferred), Catia or NX

  • BOM preparation: COTS and custom parts

  • Prototyping: Rapid in-house 3D printing, CNC/sheet metal quoting, etc.

  • Hands-on MAIT experience of precise optical units in clean-room conditions

This is an onsite role in Berlin, Germany

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace), or equivalent hands-on experience

  • Fluency in English

  • 1-3 years of experience with the Aerospace industry: understanding of Environmental conditions and specific loads, material selection, etc.
